Our Team

  • Lisa Moskowitz - Co-founder

Lisa is a court reporter by profession and an avid puzzler during nonwork hours. As a mother of twin boys, Lisa used to love arranging fun activities for them, and her reward was seeing the excitement on her boys' faces as they took part in her adventures. Now that the kids are adults and on their own, the Orange County puzzling community has become her new family, and Lisa gets so excited to see the puzzlers' faces after William announces, "Three, two, one, Go!" at every speed puzzle competition.

  • William Shandling - Co-founder

Although he loves to compete in speed puzzling events, William finds even more joy in organizing competitions for Orange County Speed Puzzlers. He is known throughout the puzzling community for his inventiveness as it relates to judging in speed puzzling competitions. He raised the bar with what is now referred to as “The Shandling Shim,” a simple piece of yellow paper which is placed under a puzzle piece that falls on the ground during competition.

  • Andrea Howard - Community Liaison / Merchandise

Andrea works full time as a transitional kindergarten (TK) teacher for the Capistrano Unified School District. She’s also a mother of two children who keep her extremely busy. When she’s not driving her kids to and from activities, Andrea enjoys working on puzzles from 100 pieces to 3000 pieces. Andrea has been part of the OSCP team since the beginning and enjoys competing regularly at local speed puzzling competitions.

  • Erin Potter - Merchandise

Erin is an avid puzzler and has been puzzling for over 10 years. Her day job is a contract home loan processor which is a lot of hurry up and wait so while she is waiting, she is puzzling. Erin’s favorite brand is Cobble Hill because like herself, the pieces are a little wonky. She enjoys puzzles ranging from 1000 pieces all the way down to 100 pieces. She has been in the speed puzzling world a little less then 2 years and loves doing Pairs (with her partner Andrea) and Teams competitions.

  • Elizabeth Tashiro - Social Media

Elizabeth began speed puzzling in January 2024, but she has been doing jigsaw puzzles ever since she can remember. With a professional background in marketing consumer packaged goods, Elizabeth manages the OCSP social media channels. Her goal is to share the vibrant energy of the OCSP community with a growing audience all over the country.

  • Janis Kosmala - Community Relations

Janis has been an optometrist for 30+ years and has fond memories of doing many puzzles with her mother as a child. Photomosaic puzzles are her favorite (but they aren't really speed friendly.) She loves being a part of this wonderful community and looks forward to participating in her first speed puzzling competition soon.

  • Samina Schiller - Facebook Group Moderator

Like many, Samina found puzzling during the pandemic. As an avid board gamer who suddenly found herself without weekly game nights, she needed a new hobby that would challenge and stimulate her in a similar way. After her first speed puzzling competition, all thanks to Lisa coordinating the team, Samina was hooked again! When Samina is not puzzling (or doing puzzle related activities), she is working as a Benefits Administration Account Manager, playing with her two cats, or traveling.
